What are the benefits of a Face Lift?

What are the considerations?

• A facelift isn´t suitable for crow´s feet or wrinkles around the mouth - these should be treated with botox
• Similarly, a facelift isn´t effective above the eyes - brow-lift surgery is the correct procedure for this
• Scarring from mini-facelifts is completely concealed by the hairline. For full facelifts it becomes virtually undetectable over time
• Smoking reduces oxygen in the blood which can result in wounds healing more slowly
• While virtually undetectable in most cases, some people are more prone to pronounced scarring than others
• adverse reactions to anaesthesia occur very occasionally
• there is always a slight possibility of infection, although this is highly unlikely if antibiotics are taken as prescribed
• severe bruising may require drainage
• blood and other fluid can accumulate under the skin - this can be drained with a syringe
• injury to the nerves that control facial muscles is a small possibility but this is usually temporary
